Outside Empty Outside

Post by BOMBER26 Tue Mar 25 2014, 09:47

Hi guys,
Just wondering what you all think about a staffy sleeping outside? I'm happy for my 9 week old to sleep inside but he seems to prefer it outside. I live in Australia and winter is approaching but it doesn't get all that cold here. Any opinions would be helpful.
Thanks

I'm in the uk so it'd be far to cold for a Stafford to sleep outside cold but I know some aus members pooches sleep outside. Staffords crave human contact so I wouldn't but I think it's personal choice. Xx

Rocky sleeps on the end of or inside our bed, him being outside would not be a choice for him or us I don't think.

I`m in the UK so its far to cold for Lula to sleep outside at the moment and i`d be up and down all night checking on her if she was outside. My dad had a staff that used to sleep outside in the summer she used to refuse to come in side in the warm weather

If the dog is happy and you are happy that all that matters

Aus is warmer than here in the uk, and if you are both happy then fine  Smile , but I prefer my boy to be with us at night x

The climate might be ok in Oz for this. Definitely not, here in UK. However, I would also consider what he would be doing outside all night. If it's just sleeping, ok. But if he has a wide range in which to run, I would want to check that he can't indulge in a killing spree while perhaps some wildlife is most active. This was a concern with my dear old cat (who died last year aged 22). Whatever his own wishes, there was no way I'd let him out at night, esp during the bird nesting season. Otherwise, it would be death at dawn. So death or harassment of wildlife, that is a thing I would consider and avoid.
