El Perro Empty El Perro

Post by Mistys Mum Sun Apr 03 2016, 21:13

Ohh just ordered Misty a new El Perro harness and collar from K9 Crew. She really really hates harness's going over her head. We have a great one from a Pet Smart in the US - its just fleece and she can step into it. However the only issue with it is that she has come out of it twice when she has been playing in the park and its been real fun and games getting her back into it. As a result I wont walk her in it as I just don't think its secure enough. Ive spent so much money on other harnesses- Julius K9 was great for a while but it rubbed her fur off. We bought a cheaper version of it which was recommended on here and that was fantastic until recently she has really started to HATE it going on her. We have a nice fleece Trixie one but again its over the head which she doesn't like.

I have really struggled to find a non over the head fleece harness but El Perro have a Triple Sandwich Harness which has three buckles and looking at it you can unbuckle all of them and just strap it up over the dog so it doesn't have to go over her head. Its not fleece lined but hopefully it wont rub her- it looks really good quality and looks like it shouldn't rub. I also bought her a lovely fleece lined collar so Im hoping that a) they both fit b) they don't rub and c) the colours (purple and black) look good on her.

Fingers crossed Ive finally found a harness I don't have to replace again in a month or so!!!

I really like El Perro in general! I have had a dodgy collar from them once but they replaced straight away. I haven't used the harnesses, but they're really good quality and soft too! Photos of the model please when it gets here Love Struck

im sure misty will look fantastic ud think they would make good harnesses but I believe a lot of the manufacturers assume every dog is adabtable to anything which defo isnt the case.

Well after waiting a month we finally got our parcel. So disappointed, the collar is massive, it's far too thick for her, the poor little girl just looks dwarfed in it. The harness is fantastic, wonderful quality and beautifully made, however again it's just so big for her, width too big not actual size. It's so heavy I wouldn't expect her to wear it, we tried it on and it was so big it looked silly. She seemed to like it surprisingly as when we took it off she actually pawed at it which is her sign of telling us to do something.

To say I'm gutted is an understatement. I don't think I can't get a refund as they are custom items. Hubby is getting the blame as I thought a Four cm wide harness might be to big for her, plus the buckles are giant. We may just keep the harness incase she gets bigger as she gets older but the collar will be gracing our local Battersea in the next week or so.

They are such amazing quality though that I'm going to order a 2.5cm harness for her tomorrow and that's cheaper then the bigger one so at least that's something!
