Does my head in. Just seen a story in the daily mail( where else!) Of a dog attack on a child yesterday. They don't have either the owner or the dog but the police have stated the dog is
A Staffordshire pit bull terrier.

Oh I'm sorry when did Staffies become pit bulls? I've nothing against pits as the ones I've met in the States have been glorious dogs, very friendly and just cuddle monsters. However it annoys me when the press don't know what dog or is so it gets called a staffy or pit bull. For extra sensationalism they add both together!

A goat could bite someone and it would be labelled a Staffy or pit bull cross breed!

True Ian. They never make a big deal when it's another breed of dog unless it's a Rottie or Doberman etc. I'm so sick of it.

Staffies do get an awful bad press wish people would realise well socialised and raised the staffy is a lovely dog is is maybe the pitbull . Don't know much of pitbulls though

I saw a video online if a guy in America who owned a Collie and a Pit. He made a secret video of him waking each dog separately on a Sunday at exactly the same time. So her walked his pot one Sunday and then the Collie the other. 

Wow it was the most upsetting video. When he was waking his pit people would say and shout the most abusive things. It was heartbreaking. This dog was waking beautifully on the lead and causing no problems. Even a chauauau type dog tried to snap at him but the pit ignored it. Even then the owner of the yappy thing made a comment about pits. People literally ran across the road to avoid them. It made me so upset. One security guard said the dog should be killed! 

The next week the guy went back the same route with his collie and what a difference. People were going crazy trying to stroke the dog. The same security guard came over and was being nice.

It was shocking this is America's dog yet the abuse is terrible.
